-Lost in the woods-
______________
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Did you ever have one of those days when everything in your life just seems to get 5 million times better? I really wish these days came around more often, they really are good for the moral.

Table manners of a two year old
Seriously though, sometimes kids can be so much fun. Babysat the nephew today, and I had a blast. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. He's really starting to pick things up, and he mimics pretty much everything. Any time my dad would yell out at the dog for being underfoot, the kid would stomp his foot, point out the room and shout "oot - oot". He even had to follow the barn cats around and look at every little thing they'd sniff. Trying to let him feed himself at the dinner table was quite entertaining too. If you've ever seen my dog shake the living crap out of his toy spider - that's what this kid did to the face cloth I gave him to wipe his cheesy fingers on. I guess there's hope for him yet.
So, in other news, why isn't it spring and warm and sunny yet?

Ever randomly remember a book that you read back in high school that you really enjoyed? One of those books that you borrowed from a friend, read, gave back, now you remember it but can't entirely figure out all the details like the title or the author? All you've got to go on was the general theme and kind of what their name sounded like. So of course it stuck with me and bothered me until I figured out what it was and I went looking for it. And I found it. It, and the sequel that I went out and bought and read, but still wanted the original book. And you know what, it's now a trilogy. So of course, I had to break out the old gift certificate that's like three years old and get me some fresh new reads. Well, the fresh and old. I know, I'm a geek. No one should get this excited or happy about books that they read back in the day. But hey, some days a little nostalgia will do you good, it reminds you of who you are and where you came from.

Note to early morning joggers ->
Jogging down the middle of University Avenue at quarter after five in the morning might be convenient, but it's not very conducive to actually completing your morning rounds without getting winged. This probability of dying increases when you make the decision to wear dark clothing and choose not to get out of the way of oncoming vehicles. But hey, I'm sure your jogging buddy will be able to call the ambulance. . . except he didn't seem smart enough to move either. Evolution through natural selection? I sure hope so.

Capital Area Recreation, Tamsyn speaking...
And so ends week one of living out in the country to look after the senile dog. It's not as bad as I thought it was going to be, it's just a lot of driving that I don't want to be doing. Or paying the gas for. But whatever, the dog gets to snore all over the place, and I don't worry about him puking because he's scared of the floor. I'm working enough that I don't care when I get home that I'm not climbing into my own bed. And while I'm living without cable, satellite t.v. isn't terrible I guess. I do miss the kitty, but I know she's being well looked after, and I do stop in to see her and feed the fish everyday. Really, I guess home is where the bunny is.
