And just like that, she was gone.
It wasn't like we didn't expect it, I did, and I'm really glad I got to spend the time to say goodbye. She went while she was asleep, and there were people around her that were looking after her. I'm happy she went while she was still my grandmother, and we knew that she was ready to go too. It's what we wished and what we hoped for. I had her for 22 years longer that I should have, and I would be a different person if I hadn't had her. I'll always wish I could have heard her stories that she couldn't really remember all the details to tell, but I'm thankful that I got to hear the ones I did, and know what an incredible woman she was. It's indescribable how such small turns of chance can lead to the most wonderful results, but things happen the way they are meant to, and for that, I'm happy. It's because of her that I have my mother and the reason I am me, and those are things I will always be grateful for.
