Seriously, wtf?
Here's a hint, if you stand someone up twice at times that you arranged with no reason or apology, call four times in 5 minutes, ask one question each time, then say I'll call you right back and hang up, the person you're talking to is probably going to think poorly of you and not want you to live with them. You're psycho, and I wouldn't give you keys to my house if you had me at knife point.
Aside from this, the hunt, well, continues. Plenty of people I know and like want to move in for September, but unfortunately, this is May, and the kitty is getting pretty lonely. I'll survive I'm sure. At least I've actually got a job, which I realized the other day that I never have at this time of the year. I've never had this much free time, what with only having 3 shifts a week. I'm only going slightly nutty, but I've never had cleaner laundry, nor have I read so much and watched so many movies. It's also led me to many late night biking excursions, circa working down at the marina and biking home late at night. (I don't think circa's the right word there, but I'll let it stick)
I'm still looking for a job better suited for me, but I've got something to do in the meantime, so while I'm not ecstatic with where I am, it could be sooo much worse. The msn crew is pretty cool, and I don't know how I lucked out getting in with them, because I wouldn't have stayed through training at any of the other spots. Even the general orientation made my skin crawl, you guys that work at call centers and deal with people on the phone, my hat's off to you, I certainly couldn't do it.
In far less depressing news, it's spring!!! That means summer fun is almost here. The tree outside my window is getting leafy already, even if they're curled and wrinkly. I propose many excursions, the least of which would be a camping trip to St. Peters Island. I've done it twice before, but this time I actually have permission of someone who owns land there, so I want to go exploring. I've checked old records and maps; there was a church, a school, a few farm houses and a cemetery there. Looking for old relics and stuff would be a different experience, a bit more than roasting weenies and peeing in the woods. It's a plan, there's 5 or 6 of us going now, let me know if you want to come. It'll be when it warms up a bit, and when it doesn't conflict with the other canoe trip. Aside from that, fishing seems to be a good way to spend an afternoon, if it would just stop raining. May showers bring June mosquitoes, just remember that!
