So if you know me, you probably know that I'm fairly fond of animals, probably more than would be considered normal, or , well, sane. So you'll forgive my vent and I shoot as much bad karma this guys way as I possibly can:
Took my lovely little puppy to the dog park at the humane society as I've started doing to help her make puppy friends. Lots of big dogs, a few boxers, a huge lab/shepard mix, and a bunch of beagles. She spent most of her time cowering behind whoever would let her, and being generally adorable and having every one cooing over her, which I can't blame them for. Buddy comes along, pulls up, jumps out, checks all 7 or 8 of us out, tosses a cat over the fence like a bag of garbage, and drives off. Beagle Lady and I who are watching him are totally shocked. We pick up our jaws and head out to see if the cat is still alive.
She was the sweetest little orange cat, with big orange eyes and dainty little white paws and a fluffy plume of a tail. Probably just out of the cute round kitten stage, and probably had her first heat. She was fine, but scared shitless. Who wouldn't be? And this asshole just tossed her away like she was trash.
Ok, you might be thinking to yourself, well this way was better than tossing her off a bridge, or maybe he didn't have the money to pay the surrender fee. If you tell them it's a stray, they won't charge you anything. And this guy probably drove away feeling king shit because he didn't "murder" the cat to get rid of it. No, of all the sickness, overcrowding, and stress, as well as the likely hood that the shelter has no more room, he really didn't do the cat much of a favor. He tossed his responsibility onto someone else. Fucktard.
The only good thing I can see of it is that this poor little cat won't have to suffer through living with a pathetic example of something pretending to be human. She'll have the chance to make someone happy, and be happy with them, someone who hopefully understands that pets are not accessories or toys, they're companions to share you time and love with.
