I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

And just like that, she was gone.
It wasn't like we didn't expect it, I did, and I'm really glad I got to spend the time to say goodbye. She went while she was asleep, and there were people around her that were looking after her. I'm happy she went while she was still my grandmother, and we knew that she was ready to go too. It's what we wished and what we hoped for. I had her for 22 years longer that I should have, and I would be a different person if I hadn't had her. I'll always wish I could have heard her stories that she couldn't really remember all the details to tell, but I'm thankful that I got to hear the ones I did, and know what an incredible woman she was. It's indescribable how such small turns of chance can lead to the most wonderful results, but things happen the way they are meant to, and for that, I'm happy. It's because of her that I have my mother and the reason I am me, and those are things I will always be grateful for.

So she's hanging in there. For a lady that has double pneumonia causing heart problems, she's sure got a lot of spunk. I guess you don't really get over stuff like that when you're her age, but here's hoping she'll be able to come out of it. The cute little old ladies at Corrigan told me to bring her back as soon as I could. They made me smile.

Tonight was a good night
While I still didn't make it all the way out tonight, I had a good night semi-out with people. Happy pseudo birthday to Moira, and a special thank you to Nathan for being super-guy tonight. And by the way, I hope I didn't inadvertently offend anyone, and if I did, I apologize. Hope everyone else has had a good night, and hope you're not as sore as me tomorrow. And maybe I'll see you at the gym. Play squash with me, it'll make me happy. Night all!

Another long night of solitary sober contemplation
Well, it was an evening, not to great, not to bad, fairly blah overall. Did get to talk to someone I feel like I haven't talked to in a long while. It was nice. I recommend it. Then came the rest of the night filled will silly drunk people. It must be the moon or something, because drunk people tonight were just a little bit off. No violence, only a few super teary girls, but lots of out of character happenings. I don't know, maybe I've just seen it all enough that it's starting to come back again to surprise me.

The mystery of the missing teeth has been solved!
My nan still had some problems today, but we think it was all because of an antibiotic messing with her insulin, so hopefully that's all straightened out. It turns out a little ol' bitty that's even more forgetful than my Nan went into her room, and took her teeth thinking they were her own. Her son gave them to the nurses and told them that they didn't belong to his mother, and wondered where they had come from. Really it was pretty funny. Mom and I laughed about it for a good while. Just thought I should let those know who were especially baffled. Just goes to show, when you get old and your teeth fall out, hold on to those dentures!

   Monday, January 19

So my nan ate a candy today to bring her low blood sugar up, choked on it, turned blue, and nearly died. One of the men that works there did the hymleich on her 3 times to get the candy out, then they sent her to the hospital to get checked out. If she hadn't had the door open, no one would have heard her. If you ever feel bad or guilty about considering moving a family member into community care, don't. My grandmother would have been long gone by now, probably a couple of years ago. People that look after them think of them as their extended families, and they care about them just as much, and they are people like Alison and Shannon. You couldn't ask for better people.

Better disposition
I feel a bit better about the situation today, it has somewhat cleared up. I feel that having hooters written across my chest would get me some extra attention jon, but It may not be the kind I was looking for. Anyway, I'm working tonight, so that'll just be a barrel of monkeys, and if you've got nothing better to do, I'd be eternally grateful if you showed up with a Tim's double double. That's right, you can buy friendship. Or at least gratitude. And tomorrow you should seriously consider coming to the hockey game, students can get free tickets. It's the first official game, and wouldn't you all just love to tell your kids someday that you were there for the opening game? I know I will.

harrumph.
So how do you express to someone you live with that you've had enough? I mean without being rude that they're taking advantage of your easygoingness, and it's starting to get to you. There's give and take, and there's compromise, and there's just walking all over people. I'm not a doormat people. I don't have welcome written on my chest.

For those who speak only english, I'm sorry you don't understand. For those who speak French, I'm sorry for the poor grammar and the poor spelling.
Interesting evening. Didn't really intend to drink, but whatever. I really do want popcorn, but I'm not fully ready to walk all the way downstairs. Ah well, there's always tomorrow.

   Wednesday, January 14

Now is time to be bored.
I only had one class today, and they had to go and cancel it. So what if I would have lost feeling in all extremeties and have to have fingers toes and nose amputated, I need philosophy to live! Now I want to build something, but I'm missing the critical parts, like the nails in a house. I'm waiting for them to be dropped off. It could happen anytime in the next week or so, and I'd like to have them sooner, but no, he won't tell me where I can get them on my own, he'll get them for me. So here I sit, with far too few materials, and nothing better to do.

SCRATCH THAT!! He just came and dropped them off. What a nice man. And in two sizes! Off to construct!

Last weekend was pretty fun.
Let's have another one of those again this weekend. Or on some other random night. I'm up for it, but I have to work on Friday. I'd also like people to come to one of the hockey games at the new rink. It would be fun.

Party Post
Wow. Very loud music. Erica just turned it down. And now back up. I'm really not so cool on being referred to as someone's possesion. That, or someone's ex-possesion. That's just not who I am. You just never seem to hear the opposite. Hello, my name is Tamsyn. You don't need to define me by my associations with other people. I know I'm asking too much.
So happy birthday to Goat, and good luck to those who were trying to get projectile vomit guy out the front door. You're good people to look out for your friend. Hope everyone gets home ok tonight and watch out crossing the ave. Look out for hit and run drivers.

   Thursday, January 8

Pretty good week!
So far I'm enjoying my term. I think I'll have far more reading to do than I ever have had to do before, but it's reading thinkgs like Frankenstien and Plato, things that I should have already read before now. I'm liking my super free mornings, but I think I'm going to get lazy and just sleep in super late. No good at all. I'm still not sure what to do with my fridays, and I cringe to think that I'll have to get a third job to make part time hours. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Well, have a good week, and hopefully we'll still all have classes to go to next week.

Don't want to knock it but...
I've been having a friggin great day. Better than average, and far better than the average birthday, or at least the one's I usually have. There hasn't been a bad thing happen yet, and everyone has been very nice. Good classes, seeing friends, making fast ones, my australia order finally came in, and a gst check in the mail. Even got to see my nephew which was completely unscheduled and random. Found someone to sell me some textbooks for cheap, and the other textbooks were cheap to begin with. The day could end now and I would be happy. But it's not over yet!!

Happy birthday to me tomorrow!
If my parent's jet on me, it's not my fault, but that doesn't mean I can't carry on the tradition without them. So I'm having my own birthday dinner tomorrow evening, and I'd like you to be there. Please give me a call for the details, I hope to see you there.

Wow it's nice to have my own computer back.
Thank you to my wonderfully talented computer savvy friends for helping me out. Now I can post again at quarter to 3 in the morning or later, with no worries of sleeping roomates. Now all I need is a new game to put on the computer to take up all my time, since I no longer have sim city. I also feel that Marine tycoon would be an excelent pic for this venture. Well now, off to bed, ta.

Beer, Champaine, and Pizza.
Happy New year to everyone, hope everyone had a good night, and to those of you who ended up working like me, well, I hope it wasn't so bad. And everyone else, I hope that you made it home safe and a little sound. Walking home at 3:30 was interesting, Brown's court was actually looking kinda scary and dangerous, what with flares and fireworks, the screaming people and the cop cars driving by slowly. Fun fun. Good luck sleeping off your hangovers!
