-Lost in the woods-

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

He's a real cool cat and you're not part of it. Well, he's pretty cool anyway. This is Dante, he's the newest member of the zoo. He's Morgan's little guy, and he's pretty awesome. He's pretty spunky, and loves to play with the puppy. Someday, he'll be big enough to play with her. Someday.

And that was an interesting night.
That was fun. I think my favorite things include:
Hannah having such a happy b-day that she didn't make it out, but kept showing us her closet door for some reason
Jannie being somehow in both the backseat and the trunk of the van, squashing her tatas
the 10$cover, but I got handed 3 drinks, so it didn't really matter
The johnny cash cover band
dancing a reel with derek
when it started raining, and then raining harder, and then going outside for air, and it raining even harder and laughing at the girls who were trying to sheild themselves with their tiny purses
running around in the rain downtown with no shoes on
deciding with Murph that he and I were beyond the runny mascara stage
almost naked swimming
almost naked mud sliding
Jill doing handstands at queen charlotte in a parking lot
Derek being awesome and driving me home
Happy Birthday Hannah, and happy wedding shower Shannon, I really do need to go out with you guys more often.

Rejected in the rain.
I knew it was going to happen. It was just a matter of time before it caught up with me. It still makes me sad. And makes me laugh a little too. Poor little van.

"Hi, I was wondering if you could do *** for me, would that be an inconvenience or problem for you?"
"Ok, yes, I'll do that for you."
"Thanks!....Is something wrong?"
"No no, nothings wrong."
"What's the matter, you look like something's the matter?"
"No, it's fine nothings the matter."
"Ok, so I'll go ahead and do that, thanks for taking care of it." 10 minutes later, when *** needs to be done "Ok, here you go, thanks so much!...What's the matter?"
"Nothing, goodbye."
"No, stop, really, what's the matter, you still have that look on your face?"
"Well you knew I wanted to go do ^^^, but it doesn't matter, I'll do *** now instead." ~proceeds to try and power up the window while I'm still leaning in the window~ "Well, crap- Sorry, stop then, I'll take care of it, why didn't you just say something?"
"It doesn't matter now anyway *** is in the car. Don't worry about it, it doesn't matter."
WTF!!?!??! I'm sure many of you have also had this conversation. Why the hell won't they just say two words and the whole thing wouldn't have even happened? I asked half a dozen times, gave every opportunity to remind me, and yet no. Is it the desire to make others around them miserable? At times like this, I really don't think I even want to talk to her till I come home for Christmas. They want to make you feel bad. Then, they get upset when you throw it back on them. I just can't win.

So if you know me, you probably know that I'm fairly fond of animals, probably more than would be considered normal, or , well, sane. So you'll forgive my vent and I shoot as much bad karma this guys way as I possibly can:
Took my lovely little puppy to the dog park at the humane society as I've started doing to help her make puppy friends. Lots of big dogs, a few boxers, a huge lab/shepard mix, and a bunch of beagles. She spent most of her time cowering behind whoever would let her, and being generally adorable and having every one cooing over her, which I can't blame them for. Buddy comes along, pulls up, jumps out, checks all 7 or 8 of us out, tosses a cat over the fence like a bag of garbage, and drives off. Beagle Lady and I who are watching him are totally shocked. We pick up our jaws and head out to see if the cat is still alive.
She was the sweetest little orange cat, with big orange eyes and dainty little white paws and a fluffy plume of a tail. Probably just out of the cute round kitten stage, and probably had her first heat. She was fine, but scared shitless. Who wouldn't be? And this asshole just tossed her away like she was trash.
Ok, you might be thinking to yourself, well this way was better than tossing her off a bridge, or maybe he didn't have the money to pay the surrender fee. If you tell them it's a stray, they won't charge you anything. And this guy probably drove away feeling king shit because he didn't "murder" the cat to get rid of it. No, of all the sickness, overcrowding, and stress, as well as the likely hood that the shelter has no more room, he really didn't do the cat much of a favor. He tossed his responsibility onto someone else. Fucktard.
The only good thing I can see of it is that this poor little cat won't have to suffer through living with a pathetic example of something pretending to be human. She'll have the chance to make someone happy, and be happy with them, someone who hopefully understands that pets are not accessories or toys, they're companions to share you time and love with.
